Media Exhibits

Freedom Without Walls at UVa invites you to our exclusive vernissage of exciting photographic art.

On Friday, September 25, at 4 pm, we will open an exhibition of photographs that feature images of UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in Germany. This exhibition has traveled to New York, Washington and Chicago and will now be seen at the Architecture School Art Gallery in Campbell Hall.  Descriptions of the locations in each photograph are available in English and German in this UNESCO Exhibit flyer.

On Thursday, October 1, there will be another exciting exhibition at the Newcomb Art Gallery. Students, who participated in the J-Term to Berlin will present photography and video documentation of their journey and their experience with the Wall. Harold Mock, a Ph.D. candidate in the History department, will give an introductory talk on the history of the Berlin Wall and its implications for life in Berlin during the separation and today. Please join us at 6:30 pm.
